Bra Care 101: How to Wash Your New Bras
To ensure the longevity and comfort of your new bras, it's crucial to adopt a proper washing and care routine. If you take good care of your bras, they will take good care of you!
In general, it's recommended to wash bras after every 2-3 wears to remove accumulated sweat, oils, and bacteria that can affect the fabric and elasticity.
Rotating between multiple bras can extend the time between washes for each individual bra, allowing them to rest and maintain their elasticity. It's best to not wear the same bra multiple days in a row. This will help maintain the integrity of the bra's technical components and provide you with the best support for a longer period of time.
Eucalan Delicate Wash is a non-toxic, biodegradable, and bleach-free soap that is great for washing your delicates. The wash is available in a variety of scents made from pure essential oils in 16.9 and 3.3 oz bottles. Follow the instructions below to wash your bras at home:
- Fill basin with tepid water (room temperature water, not hot and not cold)
- Add a cap-full of Eucalan to basin.
- Insert article to be washed and soak for 15 min. (minimum).
- Squeeze article gently to incorporate water and soap through fibers.
- No need to rinse.
- Pull article out of water and gently squeeze out excess water. Do not twist or ring.
- Lie flat to dry.
It is recommended to replace your bras every year. After 9-12 months, the elastic components of a bra begin to break down and you will not receive the same level of support you once did. Look for visible signs of wear, discoloration of the fabric and loose elasticity. These are all signs that the bra is no longer providing a snug fit.
